Welcome to the third edition of Sheilas, and it’s a bumper one at that!
One of the aims of the Victorian Women’s Trust (of which Sheilas is an initiative) is to showcase women’s talents in exchange for skills, ideas and information. This edition of Sheilas meets this aim with articles from young women writers and thinkers – Medical student Pamposh Verma examines gender mainstreaming in health, and this month’s ‘Culture Club’ has Elisabeth Morgan and Tanya Rao looking at creative ways of furthering the feminist cause.
‘Polly Ticks’ this month looks at the parliamentary processes involved in debating same sex marriage rights, with the article ‘Conscience Craving‘. And to top it all off, we have a feature piece from the redoubtable Catherine Deveny on raising emotionally articulate boys, a ‘Fifty Shades’ special cartoon from Judy Horacek, and our Bonza Sheila this month is comedian and entertainer Denise Scott.
Bumper indeed! Enjoy.
