Ed’s Note November

15 / 11 / 2012

In this edition of Sheilas, we welcome writers and commentators Clementine Ford and Adam Smith to the fold. Clementine writes on the revival of feminism, while Adam (our first male contributor to Sheilas, woot toot), provides us with an open letter to Australian students on the state of public education.

We also welcome a brand spanking new original cartoon from the never-disappointing cartoonist Judy Horacek – as Summer approaches, make sure you get your SPF cream!

Polly Ticks this month casts an eye across the Pacific Ocean to the recent US election campaign.

In Culture Club, Elisabeth Morgan looks at the rise of crass female characters in comedies with a review on the ‘Bachelorette’ movie.

November’s Keeping it Reel features a beautiful image from last year’s Egyptian solidarity protests in Melbourne by Ali Hogg. Welcome Ali 🙂

And this month’s Bonza Sheila is journalist, author and commentator Julia Baird. Bonza indeed! Happy reading.
