Coming Up in March
14 / 02 / 2013
In next month’s edition of Sheilas we’ll touch base with Kate Riddell from Firefoxes Australia – a women’s community organisation created after Victoria’s Black Saturday fires. The group was initially set up to provide urgently needed practical support for one another in the dark days following the 2009 tragedy, and has grown from there, so much so that since then, members of Firefoxes have been able to share their knowledge with women and communities from other disaster affected areas around Australia. We’ll hear from Kate about how the Kinglake community is four years on, as well as the inspiring work they’ve been doing in working with others.
The Victorian Women’s Trust (which publishes ‘Sheilas‘), has previously provided funding to Firefoxes for the creation of their documentary ‘Creating a New Normal‘.
