The Rosie Creators Award – Now Open!

Rosie – our info hub for teenage girls – presents the Rosie Creators Award!

The Rosie Creators Award launched Sunday 8 March, pills International Women’s Day and is now open to Australian girls aged 12-20, medicine helping them to kick-start their creative journey.

Writers, video makers, photographers and budding young activists are encouraged to enter! The theme for 2015 is ‘respect’ – for yourself, others or planet earth.

Writing – one written piece per entry, maximum 1000 words (fiction or non-fiction). Written works can be in a variety of formats – essay, story, article, poetry.

Video – one video work per entry, maximum 10 minutes in length. Video works may be in a variety of formats – video art, spoken word blog, drama or other performance.  Works containing graphic violence are not accepted.

Photography – one photograph per entry. Violent images are not accepted.

Activism – one written submission per person or group. Rosie want to fund your community cause, so tell them how you are creating change or how you will create change! Submissions are open to a variety of community activist causes – women’s rights, human rights, animal rights, environmental issues and student voice. Group submissions welcome.

Winners of each of the categories will be awarded $500, have their work featured on RosieRespect.org.au and will be published in the next edition of Young Vagabond!
